Board Member – Our governing board work together (and with the counselors) to make decisions regarding purchases, policies and other issues that may arise at the Center. The board meets on the third Thursday evening of each month.
Client Advocate – Our client advocates meet with clients weekly and guide them through the Earn While You Learn curriculum. This group of volunteers must complete the Equipped to Serve training series before they begin mentoring clients.
Helpline – This special and highly important group of volunteers “man the phone” when no one is at the Center. It is vital that current or potential clients be able to speak to a local person when they call 1st Way. Helpline volunteers are responsible for a 12-hour shift of time when they will be the answering machine for the Center. Helpline volunteers complete a short training session so they are better equipped to handle calls that may come in to the Center.
Donations Worker – As a Donation Worker, you will work with donated and purchased clothing, furniture and other items that need to be cleaned and organized.
Maintenance – We need volunteers to assist in various maintenance tasks around the Center: mowing the yard, landscaping, cleaning inside, and special projects throughout the year.
